June 16 - July 13, 2012
Opening Reception: Fri June 15th 5:30-7:00pm
The exhibition features local artists and the international Transart Collective and presents artworks in contemporary forms including video, installation, painting, printmaking, sound art, photography, digital media, basketry, performance, and sculpture. International pieces are from Iceland, China, Austria, Germany, Egypt, and the Philipines.
Connecting the Dots reflects the notion that artists either locally or globally are able to come together, connect and thus give voice on different ideas, issues and themes. This notion becomes increasingly apparent when today, we are not only connected through digital media and technology but also seem to rely on this digital and social phenomena in our everyday lives.
Coordinated by Kamloops artist Tricia Sellmer, member of the Transarts Collective.
